Professional Background

 

Rachel has worked in education for over ten years.  Having completed her degree at Cambridge University she taught for several years in a classroom environment, subsequently specialising in working with pupils on a one-to-one basis, focusing on educational and emotional difficulties.  She currently works with Educational Welfare for Looked After Children as well as much private teaching, ranging from educational support to examinations.

 

Rachel did her postgraduate training for four years in Bristol, working with individuals with a wide range of personal issues.  She has worked for several years as a lecturer and trainer with counselling students in Bristol.  She currently has a busy private practice of clients in Bath, working in liaison with schools, GPs, dioceses and other mental health professionals.


As well as enjoying work with adults, Rachel has a particular interest in working with adolescents and the therapeutic use of the arts.

 

As an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and its subdivision Counselling Children & Young People, she is committed to working within its Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
